Different types of electric cooktops5/29/2023 Electric cooktops are a popular choice for many kitchens, as they offer convenience, efficiency and versatility. But not all electric cooktops are the same. There are different types of electric cooktops that have different features, advantages and disadvantages. In this article, we will explain the main differences between the most common types of electric cooktops: radiant coil, smooth top (radiant or induction) and portable. Radiant Coil CooktopsRadiant coil cooktops are the traditional type of electric cooktops that have metal coils that heat up with electricity. They are usually cheaper than smooth top models, and they can work with any type of cookware. However, they also have some drawbacks, such as:
There are two types of smooth top cooktops: Radiant and induction: Radiant Smooth Top Coopokts Radiant smooth top cooktops use electric coils under the ceramic-glass surface to generate heat. They work similarly to radiant coil models, but they have a smoother and more elegant appearance. They can work with most types of cookware, as long as they have a flat bottom. Induction Smooth Top Cooktops: Induction smooth top cooktops use electromagnetic currents under the ceramic-glass surface to create a magnetic field that heats up the cookware directly. They are more advanced and efficient than radiant models, as they can heat up and cool down faster, and they can adjust the temperature more precisely. However, they also require special cookware that is magnetic (such as cast iron or stainless steel), otherwise they will not work. Portable Cooktops: Portable cooktops are small and compact electric cooktops that can be moved around easily. They are ideal for small spaces, camping trips or extra cooking needs. They can be either radiant coil or smooth top (usually induction) models. They have some advantages, such as:
Electric cooktops are a great option for many kitchens, but they come in different types that have different pros and cons. Depending on your budget, space, style and cooking preferences, you may choose between radiant coil, smooth top (radiant or induction) or portable models. 5 Tips for Buying a Washing Machine5/29/2023 Buying a washing machine can be a challenging task, especially with so many models and features to choose from. How do you know which one is right for you? Here are some tips to help you make an informed decision. 1. Choose between front load or top loadThere are two main types of washing machines: front load and top load. Front load washers have a door on the front that opens to reveal a drum that rotates horizontally. Top load washers have a lid on the top that opens to reveal a drum that rotates vertically. Front load washers generally offer better cleaning performance, energy efficiency, and water conservation. They also take up less space and can be stacked with a dryer. However, they tend to be more expensive, heavier, and require more maintenance. They may also cause more vibration and noise. Top load washers are usually cheaper, lighter, and easier to use. They also allow you to add clothes mid-cycle and pre-soak stains. However, they tend to use more water and energy, and may not clean as well as front load washers. They may also damage delicate fabrics and cause more wear and tear. 2. Consider the capacityThe capacity of a washing machine refers to the amount of clothes it can hold in one cycle. It is measured in cubic feet (cu. ft.). The larger the capacity, the fewer loads you will have to do, but also the more space, water, and energy you will need. The ideal capacity for your washing machine depends on the size of your household, your laundry habits, and your budget. As a general rule of thumb, you can use this guide:
Reliability ratings indicate how likely a washer is to break down or need repairs within a certain period of time. Performance ratings measure how well a washer cleans clothes without damaging them or leaving residues. Efficiency ratings show how much water and energy a washer uses per cycle compared to other models. Noise ratings indicate how loud a washer is during operation. 5. Shop aroundFinally, once you have narrowed down your choices based on your needs and preferences, it is time to shop around for the best deal. You can compare prices online or visit different stores to see the washers in person. You can also look for discounts, rebates, or free delivery options. When shopping for a washing machine, remember to factor in the installation costs, warranty coverage, and maintenance requirements as well. You may also want to buy matching accessories such as hoses, pedestals, or laundry detergent. Buying a washing machine is a big investment that can make your life easier for years to come. By following these tips, you can find the perfect washer for your home. From APPLIANCES - Home (weebly.com) we invite you to visit us. 4 essential care for your fridge4/12/2023 The refrigerator can be our best friend in the kitchen to keep our food in the best conditions and prepare the best recipes, or it can simply be our biggest enemy by impregnating dishes, vegetables, and fruits with that terrible refrigerator smell. So read on to get rid of this and four other common mistakes and prevent your food from spoiling. A refrigerator is an essential appliance in a home, not just the kitchen. It is handy for little things like skincare and keeping medicines in good condition. But because of the diversity of things we can store and refrigerate, it is much easier to make mistakes in its use. That is when some problems arise that could send your most oversized utensil to a better life. How do we solve these problems? It's easy; let's get down to work 1. Not cleaning it with the right frequency Every day of the week, we add and remove ingredients from the refrigerator, and probably this appliance, along with the stove, is one of the most used every day. And as we know, when we use it, we get it dirty. We give it a light wipe or, as my grandmother used to say, a wipe to make it look less messy. Although it may look pretty good on the outside, all we do is accumulate dirt that cannot be seen with the naked eye. So the first tip is to clean it thoroughly at least every 15 days. With our other recommendations, the maintenance between cleanings will be much easier. 2. Not checking the temperature The FDA recommends that this appliance is at 4.4 degrees Celsius for proper food preservation. In comparison, the freezer needs to be at -17 degrees. If your refrigerator does not have a built-in thermometer, we recommend you buy one; this will be incredibly practical to extend the shelf life of your storage containers, especially vegetables or fruits that are not wrapped or packaged. 3. Overloading your capacity We usually go to the supermarket and get excited about buying fruits, cold desserts such as popsicles, ice cream, mochis, and even beers, but the last thing we think about is the capacity of our refrigerator, and this is one of the biggest mistakes because we end up piling fruits on top of vegetables, eggs on top of canned goods and cold cuts on top of tortillas. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), food should not be overfilled since air must pass freely to keep your food at the right temperature. 4. Hot food Contrary to the traditional belief that putting hot food in the refrigerator is the worst thing we can do, it is partially false. The FDA says that there is no problem keeping hot food in the fridge, in fact, it mentions that food cannot be kept out of refrigeration for more than two hours. Otherwise, it will start the spoilage process. At HD AMERICAN SOLUTIONS we are happy to assist you. For more information visit us HERE
